Overview
The museum houses the treasures of two Spanish galleons (discovered by Mel Fisher in 1985), which sank 40 miles off the coast of Key West after being caught in a hurricane in 1622. Among those treasures were a gold bar weighing 6.3 troy pounds and a 77.76-carat natural emerald crystal worth almost $250,000.
